Lumico Digital was born in 2017 with the mission of delivering a simpler, more valuable app development service for businesses that need it. Our close-knit team of developers, designers and other technical minds has more than 25 years of combined industry experience, meaning we’re well-equipped to plan, design, build and maintain powerful yet beautiful applications for smartphones, tablets and desktop devices.
Our technical fingers are in many project pies right now, working on platforms for clients from a range of industries. And, from our cosy, well-connected headquarters at Fareham Innovation Centre, we’re excited to keep meeting and supporting new and exciting businesses in the months and years ahead.
1.How did you start your company?
Having spent years working as developers for larger tech companies both here and overseas, we came together with the goal of providing simpler, more valuable development service for companies that need it.
We loved what we did as employees for others but felt if we stripped things back to just us and a small team doing what we’re best at, we could deliver a more personal service. We now get to work much more closely with our clients and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
2.What are you working on at the moment?
So much! We’ve recently built web and mobile apps for clients in the fitness, smart water and insurance industries (more about those on the ‘Portfolio’ section of our website), and are currently working on an iOS and Android app that will be used as part of the stadium tours offered by a handful of Premier League football clubs.
3.What do you like about Fareham Innovation Centre?
The place is modern, immaculate and everyone’s friendly – that means we can be confident and proud when inviting clients and partners in to meet us. We’ve been here since our business was born and we’ve no plans to move anywhere soon, even as we grow.
The support and advice we’ve had from the team at Oxford Innovation, who manage the centre, has also been fantastic. As a new business we’ve had to learn a lot as we go, and their guidance has been invaluable.
4.What projects/ambitions do you have for the future of your company?
We’re constantly meeting exciting new clients in different industries and we’d love for that to continue in the coming years, so building our portfolio is a priority. Keeping up with our growing workload will be important too so we may look to expand the team before long, but right now we’re extremely happy with where we are!
