The centre has served as a dynamic hub for engineering, marine, and aerospace industries across Hampshire in its Enterprise Zone for the last 10 years. It currently houses 60 companies, offering offices, workshops, virtual agreements, meeting rooms, conference facilities and in-house business support.
Among our success stories is a world-first robotics system developed by Lumico Digital, which now automates the retrieval and shipment of newly manufactured hard drives.
Since opening in April 2015, Oxford Innovation Space has managed the centre on behalf of Fareham Borough Council. This will now continue after securing a new management contract from the council.
Councillor Simon Martin, leader of Fareham Borough Council, said:
“Oxford Innovation has played a pivotal role in the success of Fareham Innovation Centre since day one.
“Their expertise, commitment and partnership with the council have helped businesses flourish, supported jobs and enhanced the reputation of Daedalus as an outstanding place to grow and innovate.
“Renewing their contract ensures that this success will continue long into the future.”
Located within the Daedalus Solent Enterprise Zone, the centre supports gateway industries with dedicated space and tailored advice.
It has supported 188 businesses and contributed to the creation of 1,065 jobs since opening.
Jo Stevens, managing director at Oxford Innovation Space, said:
“Fareham Innovation Centre has grown into a dynamic, supportive environment for businesses, and the next decade presents exciting opportunities to build on that success.
“Our long-standing relationship with Fareham Borough Council has generated significant inward investment for the area.
“With 60 resident businesses, and 350 people working on site, the centre has become a regional superhub for innovation and employment, with the positive economic impact felt in local supply chains.”

The centre has supported 545 businesses by providing resources and guidance that help them grow and strengthen their operations effectively. Forty‑nine companies have since graduated, expanding into commercial properties as they outgrew the facilities and support offered within the centre. Several of these graduating businesses have moved into commercial property located inside the Daedalus Solent Enterprise Zone to continue expanding.
The centre was saw Phase 2 added in 2018, just 11 months after opening its doors. Due to high demand, the centre expanded to allow more offices and workshops, more than doubling its floor-space to 36,375 sq. ft.
